Top 5 Gaming Laptops

Gaming laptops have become extremely popular and with the advances in technology, laptops are now performing at levels that desk top computers are. Desk Top computers used to be the work horses but now gaming laptops are tops in performance. These gaming laptops run as fast as the top desk top computers and are portable which gamers just love. Gaming laptops are designed for maximum performance and cooling. The high end chips run hot and need some special cooling to keep them from overheating. Here are the top 5 gaming laptops.

1. Alienware Area-51 M15x Gaming Laptop

It was no surprise to me that the Alienware Area-51 gaming laptops are the fastest gaming laptops available. Alienware designs their gaming laptops for speed and performance. They use the best hardware available and it shows. They also tweak the operating system to run games much faster than any other system.

2. Gateway P171XL Gaming Laptop

The Gateway P171XL is an impressive gaming laptop and performs very well with all PC games. It is very fast but not quite in the same league as the Alienware Area-51. This is a very nice high performance laptop with a relatively low price tag.

3. Alienware Area-51 M9750 Gaming Laptop

Again the Alienware Area-51 gaming laptops are hard to beat and this is an older model too. These machines are lightening fast and perfect for gaming. It is really hard to beat an Alienware Area-51 system. They just scream.

4. Toshiba Satellite A305-S6845 Gaming Laptop

This is not a bad gaming laptop but lacks high end hardware and chipsets. This will make a descent laptop for some gaming but will not compete with the performance of the Alienware Area-51 series of gaming laptops. Nice laptop though but no thrills.

5. Dell XPS M1730 Gaming Laptop

This is definitely not a gaming laptop in my opinion. I have 2 of these XPS laptops at work and they are definitely NOT fast. They are big and heavy but not jet fighter. The hardware is somewhat impressive but the performance just does not exist for serious gaming. I think this laptop needs more system memory and solid state drives to be able to compete with the rest. One think I do have to say is that the Dell XPS laptops are nice looking.
